Open-air theater Porta as venue for music festival
The Porta Youth Center presents its work for the first time
On July 11, 12 and 13, the Porta Youth Center will be making its first public appearance since its founding with a range of events that resembles a department store catalog. The event was preceded by months of negotiations with the administration and council of the town of Porta Westfalica as well as the open-air theater and the district of Minden-Lübbecke. The idea of the members of the youth center was well received by these authorities. The youth center event will open on Friday, July 11 with a soccer tournament at 6 p.m. and a super session with well-known musicians from the Minden scene starting at 7:30 p.m. in the courtyard of Teestube Minden.
Saturday morning is all about providing information about the youth center movement in East Westphalia. Stands have been set up in the city center of Minden for this purpose. Before the big opening of the music festival, visitors to the Johanniskirchhof will be able to refuel at the goulash cannon. From 4 p.m. - admission is at 3:30 p.m. - “Mister Music” reigns supreme on the Porta open-air stage. Kraan, Abacus, Tibet, Streetmark, Truth about Tomorrow, Embryo, Ramses II, Missus Beastly and Dionysos will be playing on two stages - one of which is covered by a tent - on Saturday and Sunday. There will be plenty of parking spaces available for the audience.
On Sunday, the music festival continues at 3 pm and, as on Saturday, will end at 12 pm.
In order to inform the public about the work of the youth centers in East Westphalia, especially that of the JZ Porta, the members of the JZP managed to get on the program “Radiothek” on Westdeutscher Rundfunk, which will be broadcast on Tuesday of next week between 7:05 pm and 9 pm and in which they will report live on their work.
All preparations have been made by the organizers to make the festival and the supporting program a success. The strong demand for tickets to the music festival shows that there is a great interest in the concerts. Advance sales are now closed, so only a small number of tickets will be available at the box office. gaff
